Theomerla in the snow

It is so beautiful here at this time of year. Last  night we were up late looking for the Northern Lights, but unfortunately we didn't see them. We will try again as they are supposed to be viewable all over Sweden again tonight.

The Guest House

We have finally got full access to the guest cottage now, and we do intend on doing it up and renting it out to bring money into Theomerla. This is how it has been left by the previous owners, it isn't too bad, but does need some work.

First batch of share certificates

Things are finally getting a little more organised here at Theomerla. We have unpacked most things and the majority of our things have now found a place. Today we have printed out the first batch of share certificates and we are about to sign them and get them into the post. All share holders should get theirs soon. Thank you for your patience as we get ourselves sorted and settled here. Remember each adult can buy up to 500 shares, so why stop at one or 10? Go for a whole set :) Here is a link to the page where you purchase shares.

Great to have you all on-board for our adventure.

Just a little dusting of snow

It looked so beautiful outside this morning when I got up. I took little Tashi for his morning walk and snapped a few shots. There is only a light dusting of snow so far, I am sure there will be more to follow.

And The Fun Begins

Our stuff finally got here from the UK yesterday and we have unwrapped most of the furniture and are starting to attack all the boxes today and for the next week or so until they are all unpacked or stored away. Meanwhile we are living in cardboard box city. We still have no idea if everything is here or if anything is broken, fingers crossed everything will be fine.

Having so much to get done, doesn't stop us having fun at the same time. There are three guest rooms in the farmhouse, as well as mine and Graham's bedrooms and offices. When we are talking about a room it is hard to know which one we are talking about and rather than being boring and numbering them, we have decided to name them. We had a discussion about what would be good room names, as we didn't really want to go down the "flower" route, as everyone does that, but we wanted something that would be fun and add to our guests experience when they stay here.

We thought about names of trees, names of the wildlife around here, though we thought many would object to being put in the boar room and not so much the wolf room. We thought about the elements, water, air, fire.. etc, mythical creatures and many others. But we decided on the Divergent Factions. If you haven't seen the film or read the books, each person is put into a group depending on their skills. So just for a bit of fun we took the test to see which faction was highest for us. I got Erudite, which was much higher than all the others, so my room will be Erudite and Graham got Amity, but his were all more or less equal. His room will be Amity. One of our shareholders took the test and got Candor, so we will know which room to put him in when he stays. Of course it doesn't matter at all if you don't match the room you stay in, it is just for fun and gives us a name for the rooms.

If you would like to know which faction you fit best into, try doing the test and posting your results below :)

Exploring The Farm

Autumn is a lovely time of year, great for exploring what is actually an overgrown farm. When we first came to view the farm in the summer we couldn't explore a lot of the buildings and land because so much has been left and has become overgrown. Now Autumn is here a lot of it has died back, meaning it is easier to get over the overgrown bits and explore deeper. There is so much to see here, I am always finding something new.

Today I went down behind the guest cottage and found a lovely little summer house. I had my phone with me and so I took some photos. I didn't change anything inside, just left it all as it is for now. With some work it can be lovely again. It has heating, electric and a water tap outside.

Enjoy a little glimpse inside.

Home Sweet Home

We are finally in the farm and settling in, though our stuff hasn't arrived here from the UK yet, but the previous owner was kind enough to leave us plenty of furniture and other things.

I took a few snaps this morning as I was walking Tashi and thought I would post them up here. Autumn is here.

Theomerla Name Origins

Some of you have asked about where we got the name Theomerla from and so I thought I would make a blog post to explain how I (Tia) created it.

Theo = Divine

Mer = Sea

La = The

So therefore it means - The Divine Sea, and is referring to the sea of consciousness we are all part of. As we hope that Theomerla will be a place of tranquillity and biodiversity, where we can live in harmony with nature and with each other. Theomerlians are likely to be conscious of their impact on the environment and how to make the world a better place for future generations.

The colours of the logo are also important, we have aqua for water and the feminine energies, red for fire and the masculine energies and purple for perfect balance and harmony.

The ethos of our Eco Village Project is that of a democratic, open and inclusive group, with a positive community spirit and an ethical, honest and equal membership of caring individuals, who have made a conscious and responsible choice to live in an environmentally friendly way.
educate and train future generations into a more ecological way of living. Participating in and arranging a wide variety of local, cultural and social community events, as well as producing organic produce, artisan gifts and crafts, which will provide an autonomous economy to the village.
